# Create a reusable prompt template

AI Content Creation | Module 19: Build a repeatable production workflow

## Your goal

Reuse the structure while keeping the facts current.

A template should make the variable parts obvious: reader, purpose, source facts, tone, format, and review rules. It should not silently carry old event details into a new task.

Use labelled placeholders and a short completion checklist. If a required field is unknown, ask for it or mark the output as a draft. Never treat a placeholder as a real registration link.

Keep a version note when you improve a template. Explain what changed and which sample task you used to check it.

## Source pack

FICTIONAL PRACTICE BRIEF: Green Bench is a student repair club. It runs a free notebook-cover repair workshop on Saturday, 14:00 to 16:00, in Room B. There are 12 places. Learners bring one worn notebook; tools and scrap card are provided. Register using the club form. No date, form URL, access arrangements, impact figures, or testimonials have been supplied. Ask the organiser about missing details before publishing. This is a creative exercise, not a real event.

## Worked example

Create a reusable invitation prompt with required inputs.

### Template

Write a [format] for [reader] with the goal [action]. Use only [approved source facts] and follow [voice rules].

### Missing-input rule

If the date, location, or action destination is missing, list the missing information and label the result as a draft.

### Version note

Version two adds an explicit missing-information check after a sample draft invented a registration destination during review.

## Your work

Create a reusable invitation prompt with required inputs.

### Template

Write at least 8 words.

### Missing-input rule

Write at least 8 words.

### Version note

Write at least 8 words.

## Review your work

- [ ] Variable inputs are clearly labelled.
- [ ] Missing information stops release.
- [ ] The version note explains a real change.

Completeness checks do not assess creative quality or factual accuracy. Review the actual work yourself or with a mentor.

## Quiz

1. What is a common risk when reusing a prompt?
   A. The output can no longer vary.
   B. Old facts may carry into a new task.
   C. The task becomes impossible to review.

2. A reusable prompt still contains last month's location. What should your input checklist catch?
   A. Stale source facts before drafting.
   B. Only spelling in the tool name.
   C. Whether the draft contains enough adjectives.

## Quiz explanations

1. B: Templates need fresh source facts and checks every time.

2. A: Reusable structures need current inputs.
