# Write an image prompt with direction

AI Content Creation | Module 10: Direct AI images

## Your goal

Describe a composition that supports a content goal.

A visual brief names the subject, setting, composition, mood, colours, and intended use. Describe what matters in the frame instead of adding a long list of unrelated style words.

For a workshop illustration, show a worn notebook beside scrap card on a simple desk. Leave empty space for a heading. Add important event text later in an editor so you can control spelling and size.

Use a tool you already have or draw a thumbnail sketch. Label a generated concept as an illustration when needed so it is not mistaken for a photograph of a real club event.

## Source pack

FICTIONAL PRACTICE BRIEF: Green Bench is a student repair club. It runs a free notebook-cover repair workshop on Saturday, 14:00 to 16:00, in Room B. There are 12 places. Learners bring one worn notebook; tools and scrap card are provided. Register using the club form. No date, form URL, access arrangements, impact figures, or testimonials have been supplied. Ask the organiser about missing details before publishing. This is a creative exercise, not a real event.

## Worked example

Create an image prompt and a manual sketch plan for a workshop poster.

### Image prompt

Create a warm editorial illustration of a worn notebook beside scrap card on a desk, with simple green and cream shapes and empty space above.

### Layout constraints

Use a portrait composition for a workshop poster. Keep the notebook visible and leave event lettering out of the generated image.

### Manual alternative

Sketch the notebook in the lower half of a page, reserve the top for the heading, and label the concept as a practice illustration.

## Your work

Create an image prompt and a manual sketch plan for a workshop poster.

### Image prompt

Write at least 8 words.

### Layout constraints

Write at least 8 words.

### Manual alternative

Write at least 8 words.

## Review your work

- [ ] The subject and composition serve the message.
- [ ] I reserved space for readable text.
- [ ] I described a tool-free alternative.

Completeness checks do not assess creative quality or factual accuracy. Review the actual work yourself or with a mentor.
