# Match the message to the reader

AI Content Creation | Module 02: Understand your audience

## Your goal

Choose a useful angle for a specific situation.

The same event can answer different questions. A beginner may need to know what to bring. A club coordinator may need to know the capacity and materials. Change the emphasis while keeping the facts stable.

An angle is the part of the story you lead with. Bring your worn notebook focuses on the learner task. Twelve places available focuses on capacity. Neither needs a claim that seats are almost gone.

Select the angle that best answers the reader need. Do not use urgency unless you have real evidence for it. Explain your choice in one sentence.

## Source pack

FICTIONAL PRACTICE BRIEF: Green Bench is a student repair club. It runs a free notebook-cover repair workshop on Saturday, 14:00 to 16:00, in Room B. There are 12 places. Learners bring one worn notebook; tools and scrap card are provided. Register using the club form. No date, form URL, access arrangements, impact figures, or testimonials have been supplied. Ask the organiser about missing details before publishing. This is a creative exercise, not a real event.

## Worked example

Write two openings for different readers and explain which you would use for first-year students.

### Beginner opening

Bring your worn notebook to a free cover repair workshop. Tools and scrap card are provided.

### Coordinator opening

Green Bench has twelve workshop places available, with tools and scrap card supplied for notebook-cover repairs.

### Choice and reason

I would use the beginner opening because it explains the task and removes uncertainty about bringing tools.

Write two openings for different readers and explain which you would use for first-year students.

### Beginner opening

Write at least 8 words.

## Review your work

- [ ] Both openings use the same approved facts.
- [ ] The emphasis changes for a clear reason.
- [ ] I avoided unsupported urgency.

Completeness checks do not assess creative quality or factual accuracy. Review the actual work yourself or with a mentor.
